While many times student behavior can be supported through class-wide measures, such as establishing clear expectations, verbally praising students, and having consistent consequences for misbehavior, not all students respond to these strategies. This session is designed to help participants apply a layered or tiered approach to developing positive behavioral interventions and supports in the general education classroom so that all learners can be successful.

Participants will explore how strong, evidence-based Tier 1 supports serve as the foundation for academic and behavioral success for all students. Through practical examples, tools, and collaborative reflection, educators will learn how to strengthen universal instruction, embed proactive strategies, and create a learning environment where every student can thrive.

In this session, educators will learn how executive function (EF) skills (such as planning, working memory, cognitive flexibility, and self-regulation) directly influence student behavior, learning, and emotional well-being. We’ll explore why overwhelm happens in both adults and students, what it looks like in the classroom, and research-based strategies to prevent it. Participants will leave with practical, ready-to-use tools for teaching EF skills, reducing cognitive load, and supporting students who struggle with organization, attention, and follow-through. Attendees will also reflect on their own EF patterns to strengthen personal habits that lead to calmer, more effective teaching.

Creating inclusive classrooms goes beyond implementing strategies—it’s about understanding and responding to the impact of trauma, building relationships, and fostering resilience for all learners. In this webinar, participants will explore how Trauma-Informed Care and Restorative Practices work hand-in-hand to strengthen school culture, repair harm, and promote a true sense of belonging. You’ll learn practical, actionable approaches to recognize trauma responses, support students’ social-emotional needs, build resilience, and use restorative circles, dialogue, and accountability practices to address conflicts in ways that honor dignity and foster trust. Whether you’re a teacher, administrator, counselor, or support professional, this session will provide tools and insights to transform classrooms and school communities into spaces where every student feels safe, understood, and included.
